SBA 7(a) Loans
The 7(a) is the SBA's primary loan programme and the one most small businesses end up using. It goes up to $5 million and can buy a business, buy the building it sits in, refinance expensive debt, or fund working capital — often in the same loan. In exchange for a government guarantee to the lender, you get longer terms and a smaller down payment than a conventional bank loan, and a longer, more paper-heavy process to match.
