Which one do you need?
Most business financing comes down to one choice. You do not need to know the terminology — pick the one that sounds like your situation.
Business Loan
You receive the whole amount at once and repay it on a set schedule.
Best when you know the amount and what it is for — buying out a partner, a build-out, a specific project.
Start here →Business Line of Credit
An amount you can draw on, repay, and draw on again — you pay for what you use.
Best when the need comes and goes — payroll in a slow month, stock before a busy season, a gap while you wait to be paid.

What lenders actually look at
Revenue and deposits
Consistent monthly revenue in the business bank account. This is the first thing almost every business lender reads.
Time in business
How long you have been trading. Most programmes publish a minimum, and start-ups are a different set of lenders.
Existing positions
Other loans or merchant cash advances already open. Stacked positions narrow your options considerably.
Credit
Both personal and business credit. It moves pricing and size far more often than it decides yes or no outright.
Industry
Some industries are restricted at some lenders regardless of how the numbers look.
What the money is for
A specific use — equipment, inventory, a contract, payroll — often opens a better-priced product than general working capital.
Questions we get asked
How long does the business need to have been trading?
It varies by product and lender. Some working-capital programmes publish a few months; SBA and bank products generally want longer. Start-up options exist and are a separate conversation.
Will this affect my credit?
Telling us about your deal does not. If you proceed, individual lenders may pull credit, and we will tell you before that happens.
Do you do SBA loans?
Yes — 7(a), 504, Express and CAPLines each have their own page. They take longer and need more paperwork than a working-capital loan, in exchange for longer terms.
I already have a merchant cash advance. Can I still get funding?
Sometimes, but open positions genuinely narrow the field, and stacking is how businesses get into trouble. We would rather talk about restructuring first if that is the better answer.
What documents will I need?
For most business products: recent business bank statements, a completed application and identification. SBA and equipment loans ask for more.
